Class Descriptions

Please note that all our yoga classes are held in our Calgary location in Bridgeland.

New Classes and Events

Bollywood Dance-Based on classical and Indian folk dances, fused with hip hop, jazz, and street styles, this energetic cardio-dance workout will add flavor to your workout with an infectious Indian soundtrack and shoulder-shaking grooves. You'll find that Bollywood dance is fun and energetic, as well as an excellent aerobic exercise. Four weeks- 1hour classes, $60 plus G.S.T Starting January 18, 2008!

Drop-In Classes

Early Yoga and Meditation - What a fantastic way to start your day! Prepare your mind for the day by opening and releasing through various meditative yoga asanas as well as sun salutations. The class begins by centering with a pranayama practice and ends with a peaceful savasana. Class is suitable for all levels.

Discover Yoga - Ideal for the first-timer or anyone new to yoga. Learn the fundamental postures of a yoga practice and how to develop your practice without creating injury. Small class sizes and plenty of personal instruction will set you on the right path in your discovery of yoga.

Gentle Yoga - Ideal for anyone looking for a slow paced yoga class. Yoga props will be used to support the body in postures and help relax and stretch the body more deeply. Breath work will also be used to promote lung health, and to energize and calm the body, mind and heart.

Restorative Yoga- ... is just that! Unwind after your long week with a restful yoga session. Enjoy long holds in relaxing postures with tons of support through props, easy breath exercises and creative visualization. Class is suitable for all levels, including those with medical conditions or affected functioning.

Fusion Yoga – Experience an eclectic blend of Yoga postures, dance, Martial Arts, Chi Quong and Pilates. A great workout for the entire body. Class is suitable for all levels.

Yoga Flow – Experience the feeling of being present in the moment that comes when breath and movement are connected. This dynamic vinyasa style class is suitable for all levels of experience.

Ashtanga Yoga – A vigorous and dynamic class that will have you flowing through yoga sequences, creating heat in the body, leading to purification, increased circulation and improve flexibility. Suitable for intermediate – advanced.

Yoga for Athletes –Tight body due to years of training or playing hard? Want to supplement your athletic schedule and improve your performance? Join this class, focusing on core strength and hip opening, and discover new strength, flexibility and a more agile body that will keep you in top form for years to come.

Yoga for Core Strength – Discover and create what it means to have a strong, flexible and adaptable core in this Yoga/Pilates blend. This vigorous class will likely cause you to break a sweat, feel stronger and stand 2” taller by the time you leave. Suitable for intermediate.

‘02’ Yoga – Drop your toxins at the door! Get ready to wake-up your mind and flush out your body. Learn breathing techniques to eliminate toxins, increase lymphatic flow and increase oxygen flow to your brain and body.

Registered Classes

Prenatal Yoga – Come and learn how to stay fit and healthy during your pregnancy with specially modified poses safe for you and baby. New for 2008 – TWO offered

Postnatal Yoga – Discover the micro-twist. A mindfull way of strengthening the lower back, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor.....with practice, make the return to pre-pregnancy shape. Enjoy gentle neck and upper back release exercises that relieve the fatigue and tension accumulated by "new
mom" holding patterns.

Parents and Tots Yoga – Mom and/or Dad come and learn Yoga poses with your little one! This class is suitable for tots from 3-5 years old. Great for learning how you can incorporate yoga into your day with your child. Come and have some fun and connect with other new parents.

Danu Private Yoga Sessions - Private sessions include one hour of one-on-one specially tailored instruction with 15 minutes of quiet time where you can relax alone in our studio, enjoy some tea or have an extended savasana to end your session.

75 minute private session - $80
Package of 5 sessions - $375

Studio Rental Rates- Our Beautiful, sunny 500 square foot studio is available for rental. Space includes use of props and chairs as needed. Our facility is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with a wheelchair accessible washroom.

Hourly rate - $40
Half Day rate (4hrs)- $150
Full Day rate (8hrs) - $300
